Pipe Repair & Re-Pipes in Mesa & the East Valley

Pipe problems can range from a small pinhole leak to larger issues involving aging or failing plumbing systems. The right solution depends on the condition of the existing piping, the type of material in the home, and the long-term goals for the repair. At Dream Team Plumbing, we take the time to explain what we're seeing and help you understand your options before any work begins.

For isolated leaks, we focus on locating the damaged section, making the repair with as little wall or flooring access as reasonably possible, and pressure-testing the repair before everything is closed back up. We work with copper, CPVC, PVC, and PEX depending on the existing plumbing system and what makes the most sense for the repair.

For whole-home re-pipes, we commonly install PEX piping because it performs well in Arizona homes and handles temperature expansion and contraction better than many older piping systems. We run new water lines, reconnect fixtures and appliances, and pressure-test the system before the project is completed.

If your home was built before 1990 and you're dealing with recurring leaks, low water pressure, discolored water, or aging plumbing materials like polybutylene or galvanized steel, it may be worth having the system evaluated. In many cases, a proactive re-pipe can help prevent ongoing repairs and improve long-term reliability.

We serve Mesa, Gilbert, Chandler, Scottsdale, Queen Creek, San Tan Valley, Apache Junction, Fountain Hills, Gold Canyon, and surrounding East Valley communities.

HOW IT WORKS

1
Locate the problem

We use pressure testing and visual inspection to find the damaged section precisely. For slab leaks or hidden leaks, we use leak detection methods to isolate the location before opening anything up.

2
Assess your options

We tell you what's going on, what your options are (targeted repair vs. broader replacement), and what each one costs and involves. For older homes with failing pipe material, we'll be honest about whether a spot repair is a long-term fix or a temporary one.

3
Give you a written price

You get a flat-rate price in writing before any work starts. No surprises at the end.

4
Make the repair or re-pipe

We do the work with the smallest access cut needed, use the right materials for the situation, and follow current Arizona plumbing code.

5
Pressure-test and verify

We pressure-test the repaired or re-piped section before closing up. We don't leave until we've confirmed there are no leaks.

PIPE MATERIALS WE WORK WITH

PEX (Cross-Linked Polyethylene)

Our preferred material for re-pipes. Flexible, resistant to freeze-thaw cycles and Arizona's temperature swings, doesn't corrode, and easier to run through walls with fewer connections. Comes with a manufacturer warranty.

Copper

The traditional choice and still a solid option. Durable, long-lasting, and familiar to inspectors and future plumbers. More expensive than PEX and more susceptible to corrosion in aggressive soil conditions.

CPVC & PVC

Common in drain lines and some supply lines in older Arizona homes. We repair and replace CPVC and PVC as needed, though we typically recommend PEX for supply line re-pipes.

Polybutylene & Galvanized Steel

Both are known failure materials in Arizona homes. Polybutylene (gray plastic pipe, common in homes built 1978–1995) becomes brittle over time. Galvanized steel corrodes from the inside out. If you have either, it's worth a conversation.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How do I know if I need a whole-home re-pipe vs. a spot repair?
It depends on the pipe material and the pattern of failures. A single leak in a copper line in a newer home is usually a spot repair. Recurring leaks, multiple pinhole failures, or a home with polybutylene or galvanized steel pipe are situations where a re-pipe conversation makes sense. We'll give you an honest assessment — if a spot repair is a legitimate long-term fix, we'll tell you. If it's just delaying the inevitable, we'll tell you that too.
What's the difference between PEX and copper for a re-pipe?
PEX is flexible, resistant to the temperature swings Arizona homes experience, doesn't corrode, and is generally less expensive to install because it requires fewer connections. Copper is more rigid, requires more fittings, and can corrode in aggressive soil conditions — but it's a proven material with a long track record. We typically recommend PEX for re-pipes, but we'll explain both options and let you decide.
How long does a whole-home re-pipe take?
Most whole-home re-pipes take 2–4 days depending on the size of the home and the complexity of the existing plumbing. We'll give you a realistic timeline when we assess the project.
Will you need to open up my walls?
Yes, some drywall access is required for a re-pipe. We make the smallest cuts necessary and work cleanly. We can refer you to a drywall contractor for patching, or you can handle that separately — we'll discuss what the access situation looks like before any work starts.
What areas do you serve for pipe repair and re-pipes?
We handle pipe repair and whole-home re-pipes throughout Mesa, Gilbert, Chandler, Scottsdale, Queen Creek, San Tan Valley, Apache Junction, Fountain Hills, Gold Canyon, and Phoenix, Arizona.
